Content:
Description of the botanical classification of the genus Vitis, of the main species and their characteristics. Understanding the biology of the plant and the reproductive biology of the vine. Establishment of relationships among the physiology of the vine, the annual cycle of growth and dormancy and the translocation and accumulation of carbohydrates. Study of groups and characteristics of fine, rustic and muscadine grapes, their main canopy and rootstock cultivars. Analysis of advances in grapevine plants production. Study of the main aspects related to planting and management of the vineyards, seeking the sustainable production of grapes. Understanding of the pruning and training systems adopted in different climatic situations. Identification of the main pests and diseases and control measures.
