SELECTION OF FOREIGN CANDIDATES CONTINUOS FLOW

The Collegiate board of the Postgraduate Program in AGRONOMY – PLANT PRODUCTION of Federal University of Paraná, in the use of its legal and regimental attributions, considering:

Registration opening, criteria and procedures for the selection and admission of Foreign students to the Masters and Doctorate Courses of the Graduate Program in AGRONOMY – PLANT PRODUCTION, in accordance with Resolution 32/17 –Art. 23 and Internal Standard 06/2018-PGAPV.

THE SCOPE

  1. This notice is applied to the selection process for the entry of FOREIGN STUDENTS in the Masters and Doctorate Courses of the Postgraduate Program in AGRONOMY – PLANT PRODUCTION of Federal University of Paraná, hereinafter called Program, for admission via continuous flow.

SELECTION AND CONCESSION

  1. The entrance of a foreign candidate(s) will be evaluated by the Selection Committee and dependent on the agreement of the Advisor Professor (accredited permanent professor) and the availability of vacancy for supervision, to attend a Master’s or Doctorate in one of the following lines of research: a) Plant Physiology, Morphogenesis and Biotechnology b) Plant Production in Sustainable Agriculture c) Plant Protection and Environmental Safety
  2. Vacancies can only be filled by those with proven foreign nationality.
  3. Only approved and classified candidates will have access to the Program.

REGISTRATION

  1. To support the elaboration of the research pre-project, the candidate before registration must contact a possible advisor who works in the research line of interest, and at the time of registration, he / she must choose only one of the research lines and a concentration area advisor.
  2.  Applications for the selection process referred to in this editorial will be made from April 1, 2022 until March 28, 2022.
  3. Applications must be made through the Graduate Academic Management System (SIGA), available at http://www.prppg.ufpr.br/siga.
  4. Neither applications submitted by any other means, nor after the deadline for receipt established in the caput of this article will be accepted.
  5. Registration or delivery of documents by mail will not be accepted.

  • Doctoral candidates

  1. Registration requirement duly completed with indication of the research line and advisor, by means of SIGA;
    1. Copy of Passport or ID document and your country of origin, with photo;
    1. Applicants to the Master’s Degree must present a copy of the undergraduate diploma (front/back) or certificate of completion of the Agricultural Engineering Course or related higher education course.
    1. Candidates for the Doctoral Degree must present a copy of the diploma (front / back) or a document attesting the end of the Master’s degree in the area of Agricultural Sciences or related;  
    1. Undergraduate school history for enrollment in the master’s/doctorate or master’s history of disciplnes for enrollment in the doctorate;
    1. Lattes Curriculum – inform link (SIGA) (CNPq Platform, available at http://lattes.cnpq.br);
    1. Descriptive summary of the dissertation or thesis project (written in English or Portuguese) to be developed, according to the Program’s research line (model available on the Program’s page: (https://agrarias.ufpr.br/pgapv/);
    1. A recent photo, size (2 x2; 3 x 3; … N x N), white background (‘jpg’ format);
    1. Advisor’s acceptance letter (attach file ‘pdf’ under ‘Other Documents’).
    1. Declaration of whether or not you have a scholarship from your country of origin (attach file ‘pdf’ under ‘Proof of scholarship’). There is no exclusive scholarship for this Edict. 

SELECTION COMMITTEE

  1. The selection will be coordinated by a Selection Committee composed by members of the Program and designated by the Program Collegiate, as determined by Resolution 32/17-CEPE.
  2. Candidate registration will only be approved with the presentation of the complete SIGA documentation.

STEPS OF THE SELECTION PROCESS

  1. The selection for continuous flow (foreigners) will occur upon evaluation of the curriculum, the research project and the interview, which may be carried out face-to-face or remotely.
  2.  The interview will address questions about the descriptive summary of the project, curriculum Lattes and relevant issues at the desired level. The duration of the interview will be 20 to 30 minutes, to be scheduled by the selection committee. 

GENERAL PROVISIONS

  1.  Public notices, ordinances, notices, communications and any other expedients related to this selection process will be transmitted, cumulatively, to the Program’s electronic address, and their printed version will be posted on a notice board at the Program Office Administration (except for the pandemic period decreed by University ordinances).
  2. The selected candidates must enroll in the Master’s or Doctorate program of the Course on the date informed by the Program Office. Failure to register within the term implies the loss of the vacancy.
  3. The classification of candidates does not imply a scholarship guarantee, the scholarships being allocated according to the availability of the Program and observing the rules of the Regulation of the Social Demand Program, according to CAPES Ordinance No. 76 of April 14, 2010.
  4. The Program and the Federal University of Paraná are not responsible for financial resources for the payment of tickets and per daily rates, nor for housing allowance in Brazil. Successful candidates are responsible for all costs necessary to travel to Brazil.
  5. Study visas are entirely the responsibility of foreign students. The visa must be valid for entry and stay in the country during the whole course.

PUBLICATION OF THE RESULT

  1.  The disclosure of the result of the selection process will occur after the approval of the result at the PGAPV Collegiate Meeting, through the Disclosure Notice on the Notice Board of the Program Office and on its website (http://www.agrarias .ufpr.br/pgapv/).

LEGAL RESOURCE

  1. The result may be formally appealed up to 2 (two) business days after the announcement. Resources will be reviewed within 2 business days by the Graduate Program Selection Commission.
